Mbour : Le préfet interdit une opération de vente de cartes d'adhésion de Pastef sur la voie publique
The prefect of Mbour, Amadou Diop, has issued an order prohibiting the gathering planned for July 26 and 27, 2026 at the central market and the fishing pier of Mbour, where officials from Pastef-Les Patriotes intended to organize an operation to sell membership cards.
According to the administrative document, the ban concerns an activity scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and involving Thierno Cissé, Mame Mor Diba and Mamadou Lamine Diaité.
To justify its decision, the prefectural authority cites two main reasons: a risk of public disorder and insufficient resources for maintaining order. The order is based in particular on the Constitution, the Penal Code, Law No. 78-02 of January 29, 1978, concerning public gatherings, and a report from the central police commissioner of Mbour dated July 24, 2026.
Article 1 of the decree thus prohibits the holding of the gathering on the dates and in the places planned, while article 2 reminds that any violation of this decision exposes offenders to the sanctions provided for by the laws and regulations in force.
The central commissioner of Mbour is responsible for the execution of this measure, which will be notified to the organizers and communicated to the relevant services.
