Moustapha Diop, Walf TV journalist: "Sonko was wrong about Bassirou Diomaye Faye."

Journalist Moustapha Diop delivered a straightforward analysis of the complete break between Ousmane Sonko and Bassirou Diomaye Faye, referring to the speech given by the Pastef leader in Mbacké, thus seeing it as an admission of failure regarding his choice of the current President of the Republic.

Speaking on the program "Live de" on Walf TV, Moustapha Diop asserts that Sonko's speech in Touba shows that he was wrong about Bassirou Diomaye Faye in making him his candidate for the 2024 presidential election. He recalls that voices had been raised within the Pastef party itself to contest this candidacy, but Ousmane Sonko had chosen to maintain his position, declaring at the time that he had chosen him "because he has all the qualities to accomplish the project".

For the journalist, Ousmane Sonko's recent statement, referring to members of Pastef playing a double game, speaks volumes: "When he says that certain Pastef members lurking in the shadows were working for their own benefit, it shows that Ousmane Sonko has been duped," he asserts, drawing a parallel with the episode experienced by the Pastef leader with Barthélémy Dias during the 2022 local elections. According to him, Ousmane Sonko experienced the same scenario with Diomaye Faye.

The Director of Walf TV also noted an ongoing movement among the Managing Directors close to Pastef, who, in his words, "are pledging allegiance to Bassirou Diomaye Faye while fiercely attacking Ousmane Sonko. Now it is up to him to take full responsibility."
