« RACINE » : Pape Mahawa Diouf lance son nouveau mouvement ce dimanche
After a period of silence following the restructuring of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), Pape Mahawa Diouf is preparing to return to the forefront of the political scene. The former communications coordinator for the outgoing presidential coalition has announced the official launch of his political and civic movement, RACINE (Citizen Rally for the Nation, Ethics and Social Justice).
This launch, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, 2026, starting at 3 p.m. at FETO2 (Nord Foire, Dakar), will be an opportunity to provide a clear answer to a question that has been stirring up the political scene for several weeks: Will Pape Mahawa Diouf formalize his break with the APR or does he intend to chart a new course through this new structure?
The RACINE movement aims to rebuild strong civic ties and unite active forces around concrete projects. According to its founders, the actions of this new platform will be firmly rooted in a dual ethic, civic and ecological, in order to build a more responsible and sustainable society.
RACINE's program also places economic empowerment, financial responsibility, sustainable resource management, and the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage at the heart of its national priorities. Through this approach, the movement's leader invites activists, supporters, and partners to mobilize to build a more just, equitable, and prosperous Senegal.
