Political realignment in Kaffrine: Abdoulaye Wilane calls for voters to have a choice

The launch of Abdoulaye Saydou Sow's political movement in Kaffrine continues to generate reactions. Following this initiative, Abdoulaye Wilane, spokesperson for the Socialist Party, offered his analysis of the new political realignments in the region.

Without questioning anyone's right to create a movement or change alliances, he wants to reiterate one thing: "Kaffrine is no one's political property."

For him, the voters of the region remain the sole masters of their choice. "Neither mine, nor that of a former minister, nor that of a party, whether in power or in opposition. Kaffrine belongs to the people of Kaffrine," he affirms.

Abdoulaye Wilane believes that the people will judge political leaders on their track record and achievements. "People don't move from one camp to another like luggage. They observe the men," he emphasizes.

At the same time, the socialist leader reaffirmed his commitment to his political party. "For my part, I am a socialist. I was one yesterday. I am one today," he declared.

For the upcoming elections, he hopes the debate will focus more on achievements and projects than on personal squabbles. "Records against records, projects against projects," he summarizes.

He specifically cites youth employment, agriculture, livestock farming, access to water, health, education and infrastructure as priorities for Kaffrine.

To the new political actors, Abdoulaye Wilane finally extends an invitation to debate: "Let's present our backgrounds. Let's present our records. Above all, let's present our projects." And, he says, "let's trust the people of Kaffrin" to decide.
