Révision constitutionnelle : Yoro Dia dénonce un jeu de « cour de récréation » entre les tendances de Pastef
Former Minister-Advisor Dr. Yoro Dia has once again expressed his profound disagreement with the direction the constitutional review debates are taking in Senegal. In two new posts shared on social media, he compares the leaders' behavior to that of a "schoolyard." According to him, the "Diomaye faction" and the "Sonko faction" within the Pastef party are "playing with our institutions like toys."
The political analyst believes that none of the options currently put forward by the government are relevant for the country, stating that "neither a referendum nor a parliamentary process is useful." Dr. Yoro Dia laments that political leaders are focusing all their energy on sterile internal squabbles, emphasizing that "they are tearing each other apart in the only area where there are no problems: the institutions."
Beyond institutional criticism, Dr. Yoro Dia raises the alarm about Senegal's macroeconomic situation compared to its West African neighbors. He gravely observes that while the government focuses on legal texts, the country is losing ground economically. He specifies that Senegal has been "overtaken by Côte d'Ivoire, caught up by Guinea, and closely followed by Benin."
Faced with this situation, the former minister-advisor calls on citizens to be vigilant and not to be "distracted by the 2 tendencies of Pastef" which, in his words, "embody the regression and the negation of Senegal".
