Thierno Alassane Sall: "The Pastef MPs do not experience transparency, but opacity."

Thierno Alassane Sall : « Les députés de Pastef ne vivent pas la transparence, mais l’opacité »

Thierno Alassane Sall has launched a scathing attack on the Pastef party members and the management of the National Assembly. The president of the Republic of Values believes that the extraordinary session currently being convened is part of a strategy to confront Bassirou Diomaye Faye following the break between the head of state and Pastef. "This extraordinary session aims at one thing: continuing the trial of Diomaye since the split between him and Pastef," he asserts.

For Thierno Alassane Sall, the parliamentary majority is far from respecting the principles of transparency it claimed to uphold before coming to power. "The Pastef deputies do not live by transparency, but by opacity," he denounces.

The former minister specifically criticizes the workings of the National Assembly. He believes that voting procedures do not respect basic rules of transparency. "We have never voted according to the most basic standards. The local elevator is more transparent than the Assembly," he quips.

Thierno Alassane Sall also criticizes the management of the Speaker of the National Assembly and his office. "The Speaker and his office do as they please. They talk about common funds, they buy us vehicles without any transparency," he maintains. He further accuses the Speaker of the Assembly of managing certain funds as he sees fit, specifically mentioning the allocation of tickets to Mecca and the distribution of envelopes of cash.

The leader of the Republic of Values also challenged Pastef MPs on the ASER affair. "We stole our 37 billion with ASER and you did nothing. Where is your concern for transparency?" he asked.

Finally, Thierno Alassane Sall calls into question the discourse that accompanied Pastef's rise to power. "You came to power through manipulation. You made Senegalese people believe that a massage parlor can be licensed," he accuses, referring to the Sweet Beauty affair which had profoundly marked Senegalese political life.

Mdrr ce qui est sûr et certain, c'est que depuis le debut du Sénégal c'est la première fois que des politiques veulent apporter de la transparence sur les fonds politiques. C'est un fait.
