Tournée nationale du FDR dans le Saloum : Modou Diagne Fada interpelle le gouvernement sur la campagne arachidière
The Front for the Defense of the Republic (FDR), coordinated by Modou Diagne Fada (president of the LDR/Yessal party), has embarked on a national tour that took it to the Kaolack region this Sunday, October 11, 2026. This initiative aims to broaden the opposition, strengthen grassroots structures, and coordinate political actions against the current regime.
After the Fatick leg of the trip, the FDR delegation traveled to the town of Mbosse Coumba Djiguène. This field visit is part of its mobilization, outreach, and community engagement activities.
Modou Diagne Fada, spokesperson for the day, seized the opportunity to call on the government to finance the collection of oilseeds, a crucial issue to support farmers.
According to him, "the Kaolack department is at the heart of the peanut basin. We call on the State of Senegal to deploy all possible means to ensure the smooth running of the peanut campaign, because the campaign depends on the country's economy, the poverty of the farming community which faces enormous difficulties, and the recent rains we have recorded can be a good thing in some areas but also create problems.
"That is why the government must take appropriate measures to be able to deal with this situation," said the former head of Sonacos.
Opposition leaders also emphasized the structuring of the FDR's territorial representations within the country.
