Vague de démissions à Pastef : Le coordonnateur de Salémata, Aly Fourou Ba, claque la porte et dénonce des manipulations
The political landscape of Pastef in the Salémata department has undergone a major upheaval. The departmental coordinator of the political party, Aly Fourou Ba, has announced his official resignation from the party and all its leadership bodies, thus ending a decade of activism.
In a public statement, the former official indicated that he had withdrawn from all official party communication channels. A founding member since 2016, the former member of Congress and the National Council explained that his conscience no longer allowed him to permit manipulation to flourish within the political structure.
Despite this clear break with the Pastef party apparatus, the former departmental coordinator reaffirmed his loyalty to the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye. He reiterated his commitment to continue defending the President of the Republic with unwavering dedication, praising his integrity, humanity, and ability to lead the national transformation project.
This decision immediately drew a reaction from Pastef's local base. Fodé Wagué, the party's deputy communications officer in Salémata and a member of the Senegalese Patriotic Youth (JPS), maintained that this departure was predictable. According to him, since his appointment to the CICES Board of Directors, Aly Fourou Ba had gradually withdrawn from field activities, creating a mobilization deficit in the department. The communications officer also recalled having regularly denounced attempts to sow division and maneuvers to oust him at the local level.
For the local branch leaders, this resignation presents an opportunity to restructure the Salémata departmental coordination around a more unified leadership, closer to grassroots activists. It is now up to the party's national bodies to appoint a new team to lead the political activities in this part of the country.
