Violences politiques 2021-2024 : « De qui se moque-t-on ? », s'insurge Abdou Karim Sall
Former Director General of ARTP and ex-Minister of the Environment, Abdou Karim Sall, breaks his silence. Just hours before former President Macky Sall's visit to Dakar, the issue of the political violence that shook the country between 2021 and 2024 is once again at the heart of the debate.
For Abdou Karim Sall, pointing the finger at a single culprit is manipulation, while the ruling party, PASTEF, now holds all the cards to bring out the truth.

For the former minister, attempting to place the sole responsibility for the tragic events of the last three years on Macky Sall alone is an untenable position. "Wanting to make Macky Sall solely responsible for the violence that occurred between 2021 and 2024, with its terrible toll of deaths, smacks of intellectual dishonesty and political manipulation," he insists, denouncing an opportunistic agenda dictated by the political calendar.
He points out that these acts of violence have not only cost the lives of young Senegalese people; they have also robbed honest citizens of their property and led to the destruction of strategic state infrastructure.
Shedding light
While the ruling party, PASTEF, continues to demand justice for those it calls "martyrs", Abdou Karim Sall believes there is a major contradiction between words and deeds.
According to him, the current regime is the only one with the necessary levers to shed light on this dark period.
The solution exists, and it lies with the National Assembly: the repeal of the amnesty law. This is the only legal way to formally identify those responsible for and those who ordered this destruction and loss of life.
"The only question worth asking is: What is PASTEF afraid of that it does not repeal the amnesty law, when it has a mechanical majority of 130 deputies in the National Assembly?", the political leader wonders.
For the mayor of Mbao, those who demand transparency must show consistency and courage, "whatever responsibilities the truth may reveal."
After this political statement, the former minister wanted to offer his condolences to the family of Djiby Mbaye, a former prisoner who recently passed away, praying that "Allah, in his infinite mercy, welcomes him into his paradise."
Abdou Karim Sall concludes his article with a call for discernment and peace, recalling that justice cannot be built on partial truths.
