Yankhoba Diémé cash sur le « gatsa-gatsa », les ralliements du Fouta et l'héritage politique de Diomaye Faye
Minister Yankhoba Diémé spoke about the creation of the new political party initiated by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the wave of support from local elected officials, and the criticism surrounding its name. In an interview with Seneweb , he expressed great confidence in the current political momentum.
Reflecting on the tense climate of recent years, the minister stated that the " gatsa-gatsa " mentality had profoundly influenced public debate: " We were forced into this gatsa-gatsa at one point, but we haven't been able to move beyond it. The insults have never stopped ," he lamented. He nevertheless sought to reassure local officials wishing to join them: " Mayors and other officials who are joining us should not be afraid. "
Speaking about the mobilization tour called “Kiiraay”, Yankhoba Diémé assured that it would take place under the banner of inclusion: “ Kiiraay will stop at all stops. Those who want to take the bus will take it ”, he affirmed, announcing upcoming meetings with mayors and their deputies to consolidate the party network.
According to him, this opening responds to a real demand on the ground: " We are in the exercise of power and those who want to serve the country will come. Many mayors from Fouta are coming to us. "
When questioned about the controversies surrounding the name of this new formation, the minister downplayed their significance, believing that they simply reflect the attention paid to the actions of the head of state: " Facts are sacred, commentary is free. What is important is the political impact. What could have bothered me is that there was an immoral term in the name ," he emphasized.
For Yankhoba Diémé, the name "The Republican Patriots" is fully within the legal framework: " The name is simple, accessible, coherent and does not go against the Constitution. It therefore cannot be subject to censorship. "
Finally, the minister was keen to recall the foundational role played by the Head of State in the history of the patriotic movement: " Diomaye drafted the party's texts, participated in setting up the structures and even in choosing the slogan. He hasn't changed. Words belong to no one ," he concluded.
