Ziguinchor : PASTEF dénonce la politique sale et défend la justice
In Ziguinchor, the PASTEF communal section held a press conference that will go down in history for the virulence of the attacks and the clarity of the positions displayed, this Saturday, August 29, 2026. The party's leaders denounced what they call "dirty politics", accusing the Kiiraay party and its lieutenants of manipulation, betrayal and unjustly profiting from the struggle of the patriots.
Théophile Diatta, first secretary of the departmental council and member of the National Movement of Patriotic Teachers (MONEP), opened hostilities by declaring: “The real debate is about special funds. We rejected them because we rely on our activists, not on dirty political money.” For him, the mobilizations orchestrated by Kiiraay are nothing more than staged events designed to divert attention: “It’s not even a spontaneous mobilization; it’s a staged event. They came to take advantage, without any merit, and wanted to destroy justice.”
Abdou Sané, PASTEF's local coordinator in Ziguinchor, continued in the same vein, denouncing the Minister of the Armed Forces' attitude: "It is a disgrace for Senegal to see a Minister of the Armed Forces engaging in politics so blatantly, even flouting the security forces." He reminded everyone that President Diomaye's rise to power was due to the blood shed by PASTEF activists and martyrs, and that their memory will never be forgotten.
The local official accused Kiiraay of wanting to "kill justice, integrity, and fraternal relations," before launching a call for national mobilization: "We want to bring Ousmane Sonko to a supreme majority in 2029. He is the one who carries the project, the one who embodies the revolution and who can lift Senegal out of poverty."
This press conference took on the air of a political manifesto. PASTEF reaffirmed its core values: justice, transparency, sovereignty, and keeping one's word. In a direct attack against Kiiraay and his allies, the party sought to emphasize that its struggle transcends partisan squabbles. For its leaders, it is about preserving the honor and memory of the martyrs and securing the future of Senegal.
