The agreement between Senegal and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has drawn a reaction from Bougane Gueye Dany. The leader of Gueum Sa Bopp, in a post on his digital platforms, declared that "an agreement with the IMF will not revive the economy."
For him, this is by no means an economic success. "Don't present this financial agreement as an economic victory. The IMF can help manage our finances, but it will not, on its own, revive our economy," he insisted.
Bougane Gueye Dany believes that the agreement with the IMF opens rather "a window of opportunity" to restore macroeconomic balances and facilitate the return of concessional financing.
However, "its benefits will remain limited without a national economic recovery plan involving the state, the private sector and social partners," says the leader of Gueum Sa Bopp.
