Polémique sur le séjour des Lions : l’appel au calme de Malick Gakou
Less than 48 hours before a crucial match for the Senegalese national team in the World Cup, former Minister of Sports, Malick Gakou, called for restraint and national unity in the face of the controversies surrounding the Lions' living and preparation conditions.
In a public statement, he indicated that the information currently circulating about the national team's environment "legitimately raises many questions and concerns." However, he believes that this is not the time for division or controversy.
According to him, the players primarily need serenity, calm and respect for their dignity in order to fully concentrate on their mission: to defend the colors of Senegal with honor.
The former minister also stressed that the full truth must come to light once the competition is over. He emphasized the need to establish individual and collective responsibilities, while reiterating that transparency and accountability must remain fundamental principles in the management of sports institutions.
Meanwhile, Malick Gakou is calling on all sports stakeholders, fans, and the general public to rally behind the national team. "More than ever, let's remain united and stand together behind our Lions," he pleaded, urging Senegalese people to give their full support to the players before this crucial match.
