Diabète : Le Pr Abdoulaye Lèye mise sur le suivi des patients à domicile grâce à l’intelligence artificielle
Diabetes care could gradually extend beyond the walls of healthcare facilities. Professor Abdoulaye Lèye, an endocrinologist and diabetologist, foresees an increased use of artificial intelligence applications capable of supporting patients remotely and facilitating their monitoring at home.
This approach aims in particular to strengthen the autonomy of people living with diabetes, by allowing them to better monitor their health and manage their disease on a daily basis, without replacing medical supervision.
The specialist nevertheless emphasizes the need to maintain oversight of healthcare professionals and guarantee the protection of personal data. For him, the challenge is to empower patients to manage their own care, through appropriate tools and close support.
