Diphtérie : 18 cas confirmés à Thiès, 0 décès
A total of 18 confirmed cases of diphtheria have been recorded in the Thiès region, where fortunately no deaths have been reported. Of these cases, 11 were confirmed in Mbour, a department that accounts for the majority of regional cases.
The detailed report indicates one case in Thiès, one in Tivaouane, three in Thiadiaye, one in Khombole, and one in Popenguine. In Mbour, 42 suspected cases were identified, including 11 confirmed cases with no deaths. Additionally, 16 suspected cases were identified in Tivaouane.
The region accounts for 11.2% of the cases recorded nationwide and ranks fifth among the most affected regions. Members of the regional epidemic management committee met this Friday at the governor's office to review the situation, raise public awareness, and present the measures currently in place.
