Diphtheria is an infectious and contagious disease, but it is preventable through vaccination. Symptoms can include a sore throat, fever, difficulty swallowing, hoarseness, neck swelling, and the presence of greyish membranes in the throat.
In light of this situation, health authorities are urging parents to check their children's vaccination status and adhere to the Expanded Program on Immunization's vaccination schedule. They also recommend seeking prompt medical attention at the first sign of symptoms and avoiding self-medication.
