President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye concluded his 48-hour pre-Magal visit to Touba on Monday, July 27, 2026, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Jalibatoul Marakhib Hijama-Touba International Hospital in Ngabou. The ceremony was attended by Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadr, spokesperson for Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Dr. Ibrahima Sy, as well as several administrative, religious, and local authorities.

In his speech, President Faye praised the initiative of the promoters of this project, including Dr. Khadim Ngom and Dame Diané.

According to him, this is precisely what is expected of the Senegalese private sector. He reiterated that human capital and good governance constitute a major pillar of the national transformation agenda, Senegal 2050.

“We welcome the ambition of this project. Touba has strong population growth. We must support this growth with infrastructure. We appreciate this gesture from these sons of the country who have injected 32 billion CFA francs into the health sector,” declared the President of the Republic, while inviting the private sector to follow their example.
