Magal 2026: The Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim Hospital in Touba, a reference center for serious cases

The Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim National Hospital Center (CHNCAK) in Touba will be fully integrated into the medical system deployed for the Grand Magal, with coverage guaranteed from July 31 to August 4, 2026—five days during which all care will be provided free of charge. This was announced by the hospital's director, Dr. Bineta Diabel Bâ Mbacké, who specified that the free services will apply to all patients who enter the hospital during this period.

According to his statements, the consultation, emergency care and additional examinations will be fully covered by the structure, without exception.

The director of CHNCAK also addressed the measures taken this year regarding the availability of medical specialties. She noted that in previous years, care was already provided in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, and traumatology.

For this edition, however, the establishment has chosen to increase this availability, with the aim of offering the patients concerned the maximum chance of being treated free of charge and under good conditions.

Dr. Ba Mbacké also indicated that CHNCAK, as a referral center, has chosen to receive all serious cases referred to the hospital. She justified this choice by citing the high-level technical facilities available at the institution, as well as the quality and expertise of its human resources—assets which, according to her, allow for optimal care of the most critical referrals.

The hospital director also appealed to drivers for caution, urging them to be extra vigilant on the roads in order to combat traffic accidents, which increase during the Magal period.
