Octobre Rose à la SNR : Les Linguères mobilisent l'entreprise pour la santé et le dépistage des femmes
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the women's association of the National Debt Recovery Company (SNR), known as "Les Linguères," placed health at the heart of the company's priorities. Under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Amy Mara, and in the presence of the Director General, Papa Ibrahima Senghor, this awareness day highlighted the importance of early detection, while reaffirming the organization's unwavering support for LISCA.
“Professional goals can be postponed, files can wait. But when faced with illness, time can be crucial.” This message from the Director General of the National Debt Recovery Company (SNR), Papa Ibrahima Senghor, marked the cancer awareness day organized on Friday, October 23, by the company's women's association, known as “Les Linguères.” Under the patronage of the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Amy Mara, this event, held in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, emphasized early detection, solidarity, and the impact of the disease on professional and family life.
For the CEO, cancer is not just a medical ordeal. It disrupts family dynamics, jeopardizes career paths, and mobilizes the entire support network. He therefore urged female employees to prioritize their health, encouraging them to seek information, consult healthcare professionals, and not ignore any warning signs. Reaffirming SNR's commitment to the well-being of its staff, he emphasized that the company's greatest asset lies in the women and men who bring it to life.
This initiative reflects a commitment to strengthening prevention within the company. According to Awa Kébé Diakhaté, president of the SNR Women's Association, the choice of an awareness conference addresses the need to better inform female employees about the disease and the importance of early detection. Following a screening day organized last year, the Linguères (SNR employees) focused this year on discussions with specialists and supporting the Senegalese League Against Cancer (LISCA) through a check presentation to support its work.
The meeting also brought together healthcare professionals, including Dr. Ibrahima Thiam, a radiation oncologist, and Khadija Ndiaye, a psychologist. Their presentations addressed the medical and psychological dimensions of cancer, as well as its impact on those affected and their families. Representing the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, a speaker emphasized the importance of screening and the need to support women facing the disease with dignity and compassion.
Beyond this single day, the Association highlights the existence of weekly consultations provided by the company doctor, a system that helps bring female employees closer to healthcare professionals. The aim is to make prevention a long-term commitment, extending beyond Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Recognizing that professional performance cannot be achieved at the expense of the well-being of those who make it possible, the CEO of the debt collection agency encouraged the women to prioritize their own health and well-being.
