Protection sociale en santé des familles des militaires et gendarmes sans couverture : La SEN-CSU et les Forces Armées actent le partenariat
Senegal has taken another step towards expanding social protection. The Minister of the Armed Forces, Air Force General Birame Diop, and the Director General of the Senegalese Agency for Universal Health Coverage (SEN-CSU), Dr. El Hadji Séga Guèye, signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday, May 5th, aimed at enrolling the families of military personnel and gendarmes who do not yet have health coverage.

This agreement marks a turning point in the State's social policy towards the defense and security forces. It reflects a logic of recognition and national solidarity towards these bodies committed to serving the Nation, often exposed to high professional constraints.

Beyond its symbolic significance, this initiative aims to address a protection gap for many eligible individuals by facilitating their access to healthcare. According to the authorities, it reflects the commitment to making universal health coverage a concrete lever for social equity.

The signing ceremony also highlights a dynamic of inter-institutional cooperation. By aligning the priorities of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and those of the SEN-CSU, the State is consolidating an integrated approach to social protection, with the ultimate goal of guaranteeing effective access to healthcare for all.

Through this agreement, Senegal reaffirms its commitment to building an inclusive health system, where no citizen, including the families of those who ensure national security, is left behind.
