Retention of health and social data: ASAS And Gueusseum steps up its efforts

The National Directorate of ASAS And Gueusseum launched the second phase of its action plan yesterday, Monday, August 10, 2026. This action plan consists of the "retention of health and social data" applicable throughout the entire national territory.

According to union representatives, the measure does not affect patient care. Staff must therefore continue collecting routine health and social information at all levels. However, And Gueusseum clarifies that they must refrain from entering data into the usual institutional forms and suspend the transmission of data to health districts, departments, and medical regions.

It is also requested that no regularization of data not transmitted during the period of the directive be carried out.

An indefinite period with pressure on the Government

This directive remains in effect "until further notice." The Directorate warns: "If the government fails to respond positively and concretely within three months, the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene will be held responsible for the consequences regarding the completeness, timeliness, and reliability of the data."

In the event of the lifting of the order, ASAS declines all responsibility for making up for and for any possible delays on institutional platforms.

A call for discipline among activists

The Directorate calls upon all activists and supporters to observe this directive "with the utmost rigor." It emphasizes the need for "strict, uniform, and coordinated" implementation throughout the country. Discipline, solidarity, and cohesion are presented as essential to the success of this milestone in the ^13th Action Plan.

With this data withholding, ASAS And Gueusseum is taking a tougher stance. The standoff with the authorities has resumed.
