Santé : And Gueusseum annonce une nouvelle offensive syndicale et décrète 48 heures de grève en juillet
The Alliance of Autonomous Health Unions (ASAS), better known as And Gueusseum, is taking a tougher stance against the government. Following a meeting of its National Executive Committee, the union unveiled its 11th action plan, marked by a series of mobilizations aimed at securing the fulfillment of demands it considers still unanswered.
In its statement, And Gueusseum expressed deep disappointment with the new authorities in charge of social dialogue. The union believes that the expectations raised by the appointment of a new Minister of Public Service and Labour quickly gave way to disillusionment, denouncing the continuation of what it describes as dilatory practices in the conduct of negotiations.
The Board also criticizes the recent amendments to the Labor Code and the Social Security Code, which it claims were adopted without genuine consultation with labor unions. And Gueusseum considers these reforms an attack on union freedoms and reaffirms its solidarity with all workers committed to defending social rights.
Faced with this situation, the union coalition announces an intensification of its movement. It demands, in particular, the full implementation of the agreements already signed with the State, the payment of the housing allowance to contract agents of the Ministry of Health and Social Action as well as to workers of public health establishments, the extension of this allowance to staff of local authorities, the completion of the implementation of the Territorial Civil Service, the finalization of the career plans of the agents concerned and the allocation of the plots promised to the beneficiaries of the SUTSAS-NAMORA social housing program.
To achieve these demands, And Gueusseum has established a mobilization schedule. A press conference is planned for July 6, 2026, to present the remaining agreements to be implemented and the organization's demands. This will be followed, on July 7, by general mobilization assemblies in various regions of the country.
The culmination of this new phase of the struggle will take place on July 9 and 10, 2026, with a call for 48 hours of rolling strikes. The union specifies that emergency services will continue to be provided, while announcing that it will not adhere to minimum service requirements during this period.
Finally, on July 11, the National Directorate will assess the movement. If no significant progress is made on the demands, new strategies could be adopted, suggesting a further escalation of the standoff between the health unions and the Government.
Through this 11th action plan, And Gueusseum intends to maintain pressure on the authorities in order to obtain, according to its officials, a definitive settlement of the social debt that has pitted health sector workers against the State for several years.
