Scanner de l’hôpital Maguette Lô : le ministère de la Santé rectifie une information attribuant l’équipement à El Malick Ndiaye
The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene denied on Sunday, August 2, the information circulating on social networks according to which the scanner intended for the Maguette Lô hospital in Linguère had been donated by the deputy and former president of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye.
In a press release, the department clarified that this equipment was actually acquired through funding secured from one of its technical and financial partners. It was therefore not a donation from the elected official, who himself reportedly provided this clarification in a public statement.
The ministry emphasizes that this new equipment will strengthen the hospital's technical platform and improve access to diagnosis as well as patient care in the Louga region.
In response to the controversy, he calls on the public, political actors, and media outlets to exercise "restraint, responsibility, and rigor" in disseminating information related to healthcare investments. He warns that the erroneous attribution of projects funded by partners could damage donor confidence and jeopardize future funding for the healthcare system.
