Tamkharite 2026 : le Service d’Hygiène de Guédiawaye met en garde contre les risques d’intoxication alimentaire
Just hours before the celebration of Tamkharite (Ashura), the Guédiawaye Hygiene Department is stepping up its awareness campaigns to prevent health risks associated with food consumption. Brigade Commander Ibrahima Gueye urged consumers to be extra vigilant when shopping at markets.
As with major religious holidays, the head of the Hygiene Department recommends that citizens carefully check the quality and condition of food products before consuming them. According to him, this precaution is essential to avoid food poisoning and illnesses caused by improper food storage.
Commander Ibrahima Gueye placed particular emphasis on the red and white meats sold in the various markets of Guédiawaye. He urged the public to ensure their freshness and to respect hygiene rules throughout their preparation and consumption.
Dairy products are also among the foodstuffs receiving special attention. The head of the Hygiene Service advises consumers to check expiration dates, storage conditions, and the integrity of packaging to ensure food safety for families during this festive period.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ibrahima Gueye extended his best wishes to the entire Muslim community on the occasion of the Islamic New Year 1448 AH. He wished them a year filled with peace, prosperity, happiness, and good health.
