Affaire Aser : Le Collectif Sunu 37 Milliards pointe du doigt la "fausse quittance" et demande l'audition de...
The financial scandal surrounding the rural electrification project of the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER) has reached a new level. In a press release issued following the media appearance of Spanish businessman José on Walf TV and the opening of a judicial investigation by the Judicial and Financial Unit (PJF), the Sunu 37 Billion Collective has taken a stand to demand full transparency regarding the allocation and use of the 37 billion CFA francs intended for Senegalese taxpayers.
In its statement, the citizens' organization emphasizes that the revelations of the Spaniard José "provide elements that deserve particular attention" and confirm the extent to which citizens' interests have been neglected in this case. The group insists on the need for the justice system to rigorously trace the path of these funds and formally identify the beneficial owners.
Analyzing the role of the various protagonists, the group openly defends the Senegalese businessman Seydou Kane. According to the organization, despite the accusations leveled by both sides, he "appears today as the big loser in this affair." The statement points out that it was Seydou Kane who handled "the registration of the contract with the exemption at the Large Business Center," paid "the fee to ARCOP," and paid the experts, even though the Spaniard José admitted to having paid him no money for the work done.
The most contentious point of this development concerns the disputed receipt used in the proceedings. The Sunu 37 Billion Collective asserts that the Spanish businessman's statements raise serious questions. The organization reveals that it is not an "original document but a copy of a receipt that was verified with the Dakar Liberté tax office and not with the Large Business department, as is standard procedure." The collective questions why, amidst all the steps regularly taken by Seydou Kane, only this document of dubious origin is the subject of speculation.
Faced with these unanswered questions, the group directly targets another individual involved in the case, asserting that "the responsibility of Mr. El Hadji Talla Diop, whose name frequently appears in the case file, must be examined by the courts." The group members formally request that the Judicial and Financial Division summon Mr. Diop to explain all the accusations against him.
While commending the professionalism of the PJF's approach, the Sunu 37 Billion Collective announces its intention to become a civil party in the legal proceedings. This action aims to defend the interests of the Senegalese people and ensure that the full truth is revealed regarding the management of these 37 billion CFA francs.
