Agressions en série à Dakar : un lutteur et son coauteur arrêtés par la police de Dieuppeul
A series of muggings and armed robberies has ended thanks to an intervention by the Dieuppeul district police station. Among those arrested is a student at a wrestling school in the capital, who is now in the hands of the justice system, according to Seneweb sources.
It all started with a series of complaints filed at the Dieuppeul district police station by citizens who were victims of repeated robberies. The complainants reported similar incidents occurring both day and night, consisting of either snatch-and-grab thefts or violent assaults perpetrated under the threat of knives.
All of these crimes were carried out by a pair operating quickly on board an SH Honda brand motorcycle, which allowed them to flee immediately after their actions.
CCTV footage and the downfall of the first suspect
The investigation progressed rapidly thanks to the use of CCTV footage, particularly from cameras installed at the Kuky pharmacy, located in the immediate vicinity of the Dakar Sacré-Cœur football club's premises. This footage allowed the police to formally identify one of the suspects.
Officers from the Dieuppeul police station went to the suspect's home in the Grand Dakar neighborhood. There, they arrested CAB NDIAYE, 25 years old, who claimed to be a carpenter. The officers also discovered and seized the SH Honda motorcycle at his residence, which had been used in the multiple assaults.
Taken to the police station for questioning, CAB NDIAYE initially rejected the accusations, denying any involvement in the majority of the reported criminal acts.
However, confronted with CCTV footage and formally identified by several victims, the suspect eventually confessed. He admitted to stealing Mr. Diop's mobile phone. He also admitted to assaulting N.S. Faye, from whom he stole a designer handbag containing 150,000 CFA francs, a leather pouch containing her identification documents, bank cards, and the key to a Mercedes GLE.
Continuing his statements, CAB NDIAYE confessed to having committed these attacks as well as numerous other robberies, the victims of which have not yet all been identified by the investigative services.
The central role of the wrestler "Ndoly" revealed
During his interrogation, CAB NDIAYE revealed the identity of his accomplice. He claimed to have committed all of these crimes in the company of A. CISSE, alias "Ndoly".
The latter, who presents himself as a mechanic, is primarily known for his wrestling skills, claiming to be a regular at the Grand Dakar Wrestling School. According to Seneweb sources, the young athlete was already listed as a notorious delinquent by the security services.
The wrestler was arrested and the searches were successful.
Following these revelations, the police located and apprehended A. CISSE, also known as "Ndoly." Under intense questioning by investigators from the Dieuppeul police station, the wrestler fully confessed to all the charges against him.
Subsequent searches of the two suspects' respective homes yielded further physical evidence. Officers discovered several bladed weapons as well as a nail puller, a tool likely used in burglaries and break-ins.
The two suspects, CAB NDIAYE (25 years old) and the wrestler A. CISSE, also known as "Ndoly," have been taken into custody. They are being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, multiple robberies committed day and night with violence, use of bladed weapons, and use of a vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact extent of their criminal activities. The Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar has been informed of the proceedings, and the two suspects are to be brought before the prosecutor's office this Friday.
