AIBD : Le Syndicat des personnels des activités aéronautiques suspend son mot d'ordre de grève
The Union of Aeronautical Activities Personnel of Senegal (SYNPAAS), at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD), officially announced, during a press briefing held today in Diass, the suspension of its strike order, which was due to begin this Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 00 a.m.
According to their Secretary General, Serigne Moustapha Gaye, known as Mara, this suspension follows several meetings with the authorities. First, a meeting with the Director General of LAS, then with the Director General of AIBD, followed by two meetings with the supervising Ministry (MITTA), and finally, a last meeting with the Minister of Public Service, Labor and Public Service Reform, on the instructions of the Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic.
Commitments have been made, namely: "the signing of a protocol to settle Air Senegal's debts to LAS and other entities within the platform"; and "the lifting of the lien on the Mbour 4 land." According to Mara Gaye, this suspension takes effect immediately. He calls on all staff and members of Synpaas to refrain from disrupting Air Senegal flights.
Synpaas thanks the inter-union group for its unwavering support and commends the mobilization, solidarity, and determination shown by the workers. "We remain vigilant regarding the respect of the commitments made by the ministers," warns Mr. Gaye, who assures his colleagues that rigorous monitoring will be carried out.
However, Synpaas, which reminds everyone that "the struggle continues," wishes to clarify that this suspension is not a "blank check. If these commitments are not respected, the union reserves the right to reactivate its action plan."
