Air Senegal is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which will be added to its fleet. This operation, made possible by the unwavering support of the State of Senegal, is in line with the air sovereignty policy pursued by the highest authorities of the country.
Entirely managed by the State, this acquisition marks a key step in the development of the national airline. It reflects the government's commitment to providing Air Senegal with the necessary resources to strengthen its operational capabilities and consolidate its position in the regional and international air transport market.
Mr. Tidiane Ndiaye, CEO of Air Senegal, stated: “The acquisition of this new aircraft is entirely due to the efforts and commitment of the Senegalese government. We welcome this support, which demonstrates the confidence placed in our company and its growth potential.”
Air Senegal's management expresses its deep gratitude to the State for its constant commitment to the company, and reaffirms its determination to continue modernizing its fleet and developing its activities, in service to Senegal and its partners.
An aircraft ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games
This new device is of particular importance: it will be used to retrieve the Olympic flame for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the first Olympic event held on the African continent.
On this occasion, the aircraft will sport special branding in the colors of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, making it a true flying ambassador for this global competition. Through this initiative, Air Senegal intends to actively contribute to promoting Senegal and ensuring the success of this historic event, while showcasing its expertise and technical capabilities.
A dynamic in service of national air sovereignty
This acquisition is part of a long-term strategy aimed at making Air Senegal a strong, efficient and competitive national airline, up to the challenges of sovereignty and development of air transport in Senegal.
The national company reaffirms its ambition to have a modern and versatile air tool, capable of meeting the needs of passengers while contributing to opening up isolated areas and economic development.
