On the night of September 15-16, 2026, between 11:00 PM and 2:50 AM, officers from the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade conducted a large-scale operation between Zac Mbao and Keur Massar. This raid resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including a man, his wife, and their minor son, suspected of supplying a hard drug distribution network, according to Seneweb sources. During the

During searches, investigators seized cocaine, Indian hemp, MDMA, ecstasy pills, several substances currently being analyzed, as well as a vehicle and various logistical equipment.

An infiltration deal worth 10,000,000 CFA francs

The police operation followed a successful undercover operation conducted by officers from the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade. The police officers managed to place an order for 500 grams of cocaine, worth 10,000,000 CFA francs, with an individual known in criminal circles by the alias Ngathie.

After agreeing to the transaction, the suspect initially arranged a meeting in Zac Mbao before canceling it, claiming that the requested quantity had not yet been gathered. A second meeting was scheduled for the same day, September 15, 2026, at 8:00 PM, at the Sipres roundabout in Zac Mbao. Police immediately deployed a surveillance and tracking operation around the agreed-upon location.

Upon arriving at the scene, Ngathie announced his presence and was asked to get into the investigators' vehicle. Once inside, he informed the police that he was not carrying the product on his person, which led to his immediate arrest at 11:00 PM.

When questioned by law enforcement, the defendant categorically refused to lead officers to his home. The police then examined his cell phone and found the number of the person in charge of cable television connections.

Invited to join the investigators, this technician agreed to cooperate after being confronted and provided the suspect's exact address. The man, named Ngathie, was then formally identified as EHM SECK, a 44-year-old resident of the HLM Rufisque housing project, who claimed to be a car salesman.

A family business was dismantled during the raid.

At 1:30 a.m. on September 16, 2026, police went to the suspect's home where they established the direct complicity of certain members of his family. The trafficker's wife, Mr. Diop, 41 years old and claiming to be a housekeeper, was handling the drug sales in her husband's absence, according to the Dakar BRS investigation.

His son, AM SECK, a 15-year-old student, was responsible for ensuring deliveries to customers after transactions, according to the investigation.

Both were arrested on the spot.

The search of the dwelling led to the discovery of 1 ball of cocaine concealed in 1 envelope, 1 quantity of Indian hemp, 3 ecstasy pills, 1 crystal ball of 123 grams not yet identified and 1 container containing 1 undetermined liquid product.

Further investigation led officers to recover EHM SECK's car keys. A search of the vehicle's glove compartment revealed 25 packets of cocaine, one bag, a 4-gram MDMA cone, and two tablets of undetermined nature.

A booby-trapped delivery in Keur Massar

While the police were still on the scene, a delivery man unexpectedly arrived to pick up an order for a ball of cocaine on behalf of a third party.

Officers from the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade immediately arranged a controlled delivery to the home of the person who ordered the drugs, located in Keur Massar. At 2:50 a.m., just as he was taking possession of his order, the recipient was apprehended by law enforcement. The man was identified as AM NIANG, a 56-year-old individual who claimed to be a welder.

A full list of the equipment and drugs seized

At the end of the operation, police seized a total of 26 balls of cocaine weighing 300 grams, 128 grams of cannabis, 4 grams of MDMA, and 3 ecstasy pills. The seizures also included a 123-gram crystal ball, two tablets of undetermined nature, and a 330 ml bottle containing an unidentified liquid.

Logistically, investigators confiscated 1 electronic scale, 2 spoons used for measuring cocaine, 1 fake weapon, 5 mobile phones, various administrative documents relating to land ownership and civil status, as well as the Jeep Cherokee vehicle.

Confessions, denials, and legal proceedings

During questioning at the police station, the four individuals gave conflicting accounts. The main suspect, EHM SECK, readily admitted to accepting the 10,000,000 CFA franc order and confessed to being a drug trafficker. AM NIANG admitted to being caught red-handed upon receiving his merchandise.

Conversely, M. DIOP's wife and her son AM SECK attempted to deny any complicity in the trafficking orchestrated by the father of the family.

After being informed of their right to be assisted by counsel of their choice, the four individuals were taken into custody. They are being prosecuted for conspiracy, possession and trafficking of drugs, complicity in drug trafficking, and money laundering. Public Prosecutor Saliou Dicko has been informed of the proceedings.
