« Asta Dia raynama » : le récit glaçant d’un meurtre à Fandène
The village of Sam Ndiaye, in the commune of Fandène, is in shock after the violent death of Cheikhou Oumar Ndiaye, a driver and farmer in his forties, stabbed on Thursday night, around 2 a.m.
According to information from Libération, the tragedy was preceded by an argument at the marital home. Returning from the fields with his two wives, Cheikhou Oumar Ndiaye was accused by his second wife, Asta Dia, in her thirties, of having struck the son she had from a previous marriage. The deceased denied these accusations. Alerted to the altercation and informed that his sister-in-law was concealing a knife under her loincloth, the victim's brother went to the house and retrieved the weapon.
But after he left, the newspaper continues, Asta Dia allegedly entrusted her son to neighbors before obtaining a second knife. Taking advantage of her husband's sleep, she reportedly stabbed him twice. Seriously wounded, Cheikhou Oumar Ndiaye managed to drag himself to the front of the house, shouting "Asta Dia raynama" ("Asta Dia killed me"), before collapsing.
The woman, pregnant with her first child with the deceased, was arrested in the neighboring property where she had taken refuge with her son, and then taken into custody at the Fandène gendarmerie. Cheikhou Oumar Ndiaye, who has since been buried, leaves behind six children.
Interviewed by Dakaractu, his sister, K. Ndiaye, stated that a previous argument had already involved the use of a knife. "Cheikhou had told her, 'You know you're not going to stab me.' But this time, she surprised him and went through with it. She didn't kill Cheikhou, but an entire family," she testified.

Les récents faits divers doivent interpeler plus d'un
Concernant les faits, il faut certes des peines sévéres à défaut de la peine de mort mais na ñuy facc nitt ñi am problème xel. Cette dame ne semble pas équilibrée, pire elle est d’une violence qui aurait due alertée son entourage depuis longtemps. Elle s’arme et menace directement 1 tiers qui plus est son propre époux. Mais en sous estimant son état psychologique voire psychiatrique le défunt a malheureusement donné à la présumée meurtière l’occasion de le tuer. Ceux qui l’ont vu dissimuler 1 couteau sous ses habits avaient sans doute des appréhensions négatives d’où l’appel au beau frère. C’était 1 question de temps mais elle allait tôt ou tard commettre 1 crime.
Soignons nos malades mentaux. Il y a des drames évitables. Cette dame n’aurait jamais dû avoir accés à des armes. Avec le recul on voit bien qu’il fallait appeler les gendarmes lorsqu’on l’a vu avec 1 couteau sous les habits nonobstant sa grossesse.
