Nighttime attack: Police in Parcelles Assainies arrest three assailants

A particularly violent attack occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2026, at approximately 11:00 PM in the Parcelles Assainies police district. Five young individuals targeted a security guard, robbing him of his belongings at knifepoint. Thanks to the victim's quick thinking and the intervention of the Parcelles Assainies district police station, three suspects have already been apprehended and brought before the public prosecutor.

The victim, identified as ASB, is a 31-year-old Guinean national, working as a security guard and residing in the Damel neighborhood. That evening, after retrieving his clothes from a store where he kept them, he went to the area around the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium to take a bath.

On his way, he was suddenly surrounded by a group of five individuals. One of the assailants brandished a knife, pressing it directly against his chest, before demanding the immediate handover of his cell phone and cash. Having no money on him, the victim complied by giving them his cell phone.

After committing their crime, the group split up: three of the assailants fled in an unknown direction, while the other two remained at the scene. Demonstrating remarkable composure, ASB decided to discreetly follow one of the criminals while simultaneously alerting passersby.

Thanks to this swift mobilization, the individual was apprehended by the crowd before the police were notified. Questioned on the spot, he stated his name was OT, that he was 16 years old, unemployed, and lived in Grand Médine.

At the same time, having been alerted to the case, police officers cordoned off the area and arrested a second suspect from the group near the highway. This was MB, 26 years old, a mechanic by trade and also a resident of Grand Médine.

Taken to the police station for questioning, the two suspects readily admitted to the charges against them. During their interrogations, they provided investigators with the identities of their three other accomplices.

The investigation progressed rapidly. The inquiries led to the location of a third suspect at a mechanic's workshop in Grand Médine. Identified as AOD, he was immediately arrested by law enforcement.

When questioned, AOD implicated the very first person arrested, OT, formally identified as the mastermind who initiated the armed attack. A crucial detail for the investigation: the cell phone stolen from the victim was found in OT's direct possession.

At the end of their regulatory custody, OT, MB and AOD were brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office for robbery committed in a group with the use of a bladed weapon (knife).

While these three individuals answer for their actions before the justice system, the search continues actively to capture the last two accomplices still on the run.
