A 16-year-old student was shocked to discover that a video of her naked, recorded without her knowledge while she slept, was circulating on WhatsApp in the village of Gatte, in the Bambey department. Upon being informed, her father immediately asked her to contact the Bambey gendarmerie in order to "clear the family's name."
Following this complaint, the investigation led to the arrest of his three first cousins, S. Diouf, A. Sarr Diouf, and D. Diouf, all students. Tried this Monday before the Diourbel Magistrates' Court, they admitted to sharing the video on WhatsApp, while each blaming the other for the initial recording. L'Observateur, which attended the hearing, reports that the three defendants had already tried to shift the blame onto each other during their police custody.
At the hearing, prosecutor Papa Khalil Fall requested the strict application of the law. Their lawyer, Cheikh Ngom, pleaded for leniency, reminding the court that they were first-time offenders. He also argued that a harsh sentence risked jeopardizing their education and career prospects.
The court ultimately sentenced them to two years in prison, with five days to be served, for disseminating images contrary to public decency. According to L'Observateur, this decision aims to emphasize the seriousness of the offense. The victim, for her part, did not seek any financial compensation.

En fait, en filmant et en diffusant la video de leur cousines, elles ne sont pas meme rendues compte de la gravité de leurs actions. Les jugements sont altérés.
Cest un peu le meme cas, quand je suis les débats à la télévision où on voit parfois des pères de famille sinsulter de pere et mere. le probleme est plus profond que ca. C'est une plutot le constat d'une disparition progressive des modeles d'education et cela va nous couter très cher.
