« Barça walla Barsakh » : « Malien » et les révélations du cahier de 200 pages
Wanted since 2023-2024, Mr. Sankharé, alias "Malien," was arrested in Saint-Louis by the National Division for Combating Migrant Smuggling (DNLT). According to Libération, this man was "at the top of a vast migrant smuggling and corruption network operating between Mauritania, Senegal, and The Gambia." He was brought before the Financial Judicial Pool on charges of criminal conspiracy, migrant smuggling, and endangering the lives of others.
Investigators had previously identified his right-hand man, A. Fall, whose arrest in Saint-Louis is believed to have triggered the escape of the alleged mastermind. Located and arrested on September 5th, Fall was responsible for transporting undocumented migrants "in taxis to evade police checks." During a search of his home, police seized "a 200-page notebook" detailing the accounting and logistical aspects of his activities, including "the amounts paid to the captains," the accommodation sites, and the names of recruiters and candidates, the newspaper reports.
The same source emphasizes that the analysis of accounts and money transfer services also made it possible to trace more than 11.6 million CFA francs in transactions between him and alleged members of the organization over a short period in 2024. Although he tried to minimize his role by presenting himself as a "simple recruiter" paid 150,000 FCFA per candidate, the suspect partially admitted to the facts after being confronted with the evidence from the investigation.
The search continues to engage with other members of this international network.
