Last Wednesday , shortly after 10 p.m., a boy noticed his father's long absence. He decided to go and look for him at his usual haunt, located not far from the family home: "Chez Alexis", a bar in the Bassène district of Bignona.
Upon entering the backyard, he stumbled upon a horrific scene: his father's lifeless body was hanging from a branch of the tree overlooking the property. "His cries alerted his parents and other residents of the neighborhood. The body was quickly removed and placed on the ground," reports L'Observateur, which relayed this story.
The victim's name is Malang Bodian, also known as "Bangoura," and he is 38 years old, according to the daily newspaper. "He was married and the father of three children," the paper continues. "A graduate without a job, he lived in precarious circumstances which, according to his relatives, were deeply affecting him."
His neighbors, quoted by the same source, revealed that "he often threatened to commit suicide because he had no job and lived in precarious conditions."
Malang Bodian's body was taken to Bignona Hospital. An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the exact cause of death, pending the results of the police investigation.
