Cambriolage à Ziguinchor : un coffre-fort de 20 millions FCFA dérobé chez un entrepreneur
A. Diagne, an entrepreneur, was the victim of a burglary at his home in Ziguinchor. According to the report in L'Observateur, he was robbed of a safe containing more than 20 million CFA francs, 800 euros, or more than 520,000 CFA francs, as well as valuables.
The incident occurred on September 19th, around 9 p.m., according to the same source. Taking advantage of the housekeeper's absence, two individuals, identified as Seyni B. and Ibrahima B., also known as Daniel, broke into the villa. Daniel made his way to the master bedroom, located upstairs, and stole the safe.
Having retreated to a nearby building under construction, the two men managed to force open the safe using a nail puller. It was at this point that the loot was divided: the alleged mastermind, Daniel, fled towards Cap Skirring with all the money, leaving his accomplice only the valuable watches. The suspect, quoted in the newspaper, claims, however, not to have seen the 20 million CFA francs and the 800 euros.
The Yamatogne police, taking up the case, arrested Seyni B., according to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias. Placed in custody, he confessed to selling the stolen watches, while implicating his accomplice, who remains at large. The search continues for Daniel.
