Colobane : un homme de 64 ans retrouvé mort devant une maison, face à l'ambassade de la Mauritanie
In the early hours of October 1, 2026, at 4:27 a.m., the Medina district police station was informed of the discovery of a body. The incident occurred in Colobane, in a house located opposite the Mauritanian embassy.
Police officers arrived at the scene and were able to identify the deceased as W. Faye. He was 64 years old. No further details about his personal or professional life could be released at this time.
The body was discovered in front of the house, lying face down on the ground. Investigators found traces of blood on the ground. This blood came from W. Faye's face, supporting the theory that he fell on that part of his body. This hypothesis, however, remains to be confirmed, as the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
Firefighters transported the body to the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand Yoff, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the circumstances and cause of death.
The public prosecutor's office was notified of the discovery, and an investigation was opened.
