Commissariat à la sécurité alimentaire : Le premier acte posé par Mame Ndeye Sene après sa nomination
Newly appointed Director General of the Commission for Food Security and Resilience, Ms. Mame Ndeye Sene, made her first official visit to Mbour. She traveled to the capital of the Petite Côte region to deliver, on behalf of the First Lady, a significant shipment of food to the Mandinka community.
The donation, consisting mainly of rice, oil, and sugar, was in response to a request from the Mandinka community of Mbour to the First Lady. According to Ms. Ndeye Sene, this request follows social initiatives undertaken to benefit the local population.
"The Mandinka community contacted the First Lady after seeing the actions she had taken in Casamance," explained the new director general.
She points out that the First Lady responded favorably to this request, by making the food supplies available to the beneficiaries.
A first outing focused on social issues
This release has a special significance for Mame Ndeye Sene as it comes just days after her appointment as head of the Commission for Food Security and Resilience.
She expressed her gratitude to the President of the Republic for the trust placed in her. She stated that she understands the importance of the mission entrusted to her and intends to carry it out with "commitment and responsibility".
With several years of experience in the social field, Mame Ndeye Sene believes she has a good understanding of the realities faced by the Senegalese population.
“Since 2014, I have been working in the social sector, particularly with associations and women’s economic interest groups. I also work in the field of development,” she recalled.
Towards a national network of social action
The new Director General aims to strengthen the presence of the Commission throughout the national territory in order to better meet the needs of the population.
This signals a desire to place greater emphasis on impoverished families, but also on supporting religious leaders and other vulnerable groups.
"We hope that with this new service, we can ensure a much more national network and truly take into account the difficulties of the Senegalese people," she said.
