Conduite en état d’ébriété : Un chauffeur de camion déféré au parquet à Dakar
The Accident Investigation Unit of the Dakar Central Police Station has referred a driver to the prosecutor's office for charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering the lives of others. He was apprehended on the Seydina Limamou Laye highway while driving a delivery truck loaded with alcoholic beverages.
The incident occurred near the entrance to Colobane. The driver's dangerous driving attracted the attention of a police officer, who ordered him to stop. During the stop, the driver showed clear signs of intoxication, confirmed by a breathalyzer test.
After regaining his composure, the accused admitted to the charges against him. He stated that he had consumed four or five glasses of wine before getting behind the wheel. However, he maintained that this was not a habit and that he had no intention of causing harm.
Following the investigation, the driver was brought before the public prosecutor.
