Contenu local à Simandou : 60 jeunes Guinéens en route pour la Chine afin de prendre les commandes du Transguinéen
As part of the implementation of the local content plan for the Simandou mining and infrastructure megaproject, the Republic of Guinea has reached a key milestone in skills transfer. An official ceremony was held in Morebaya to mark the departure of sixty (60) young Guinean workers.

Selected through the Simandou Academy , they fly to China to undergo specialized training in locomotive driving.

Upon their return, these national technicians will be in charge of the railway convoys of the Compagnie du Transguinéen (CTG), ensuring the link on the double track corridor of more than 650 kilometers linking the regional mining deposits to the deep water port of Moribaya.

Local content structured around three pillars
Speaking on behalf of the President of the Republic, General Mamadi Doumbouya, the Minister and Chief of Staff of the Presidency and Chairman of the Strategic Committee of Simandou, Djiba Diakité, reaffirmed the State's directives:
“ Local content is not a slogan. It rests on three requirements: work, so that the jobs created go primarily to Guineans; business opportunities, so that our companies take their full part in the value chain; and training, finally, to anticipate the transfer of skills and technologies. ”

Through the Simandou Academy , Guinea intends to move beyond the simple status of exporter of raw materials to train the skilled workforce responsible for exploiting, transporting and transforming its natural resources, in accordance with the strategic orientations of the "Simandou 2040" vision.

A multi-use development corridor
Originally conceived as a route for transporting minerals, the Trans-Guinean Railway project was restructured under the leadership of the transitional authorities to become a genuine corridor for socio-economic development. In addition to transporting iron ore, the infrastructure is designed to carry passengers and commercial freight, opening up several regions in the interior of the country and facilitating access for local products to national and international markets.

As a factor in territorial integration and a symbol of economic sovereignty, this railway project illustrates the Guinean state's desire to entrust the operational management of its major strategic infrastructures to national managers and technicians.
