Crise à la Fondation Trade Point Sénégal : Les travailleurs réclament un audit urgent
Tensions are running high at the Trade Point Senegal (TPS) Foundation. Faced with what they describe as a major dysfunction, the workers have decided to directly appeal to public opinion and the government.
In their statement, the employees do not hesitate to paint a bleak picture of the internal situation. The Trade Point Foundation Senegal Workers' Collective is indeed raising the alarm about
a persistent crisis marked in particular by recurring delays in wages, the deterioration of working conditions and questions about certain management decisions.
Despite the dismissal of the former director at the end of August 2026 and the implementation of a transition, the atmosphere remains particularly tense. Union representatives point out that the removal of the director by the Foundation Board on August 31, 2026, and the appointment of an interim administrator have not, in themselves, "restored the expected stability."
Beyond salary demands, concerns are growing about the proposed institutional transformation, particularly concerning the "MISEN Made in Senegal" entity. While stating they are not opposed to reforms in principle, the staff are laying down their conditions. The Collective firmly demands that any project be based on a preliminary assessment, a legal, financial, social, and operational impact study, as well as consultation with all stakeholders.
In order to break this deadlock, the workers are demanding as a priority "an independent, impartial and documented audit of the Foundation's management by the competent control bodies", but also that the salary arrears be settled and the regularity of salary payments be guaranteed on a long-term basis.
Given the urgency of the situation, the union chose to address the highest levels of government directly. The press release thus directly challenges the executive branch.
"The Collective solemnly calls upon the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry and Trade to ensure that the reported facts are examined by the competent authorities and that concrete measures are taken to stabilize the Foundation," the note reads.
In the absence of a swift response from the supervisory authority, the employees plan to demonstrate their discontent on the ground. They have announced their intention to wear red armbands while continuing to provide service, while affirming their openness to "genuine dialogue, respecting the law, transparency, and workers' rights."
