Dalal Jamm : soupçons de trafic de médicaments
Professor Ahmadou Bamba Kouéimel Fall, former head of the pharmacy department at the Dalal Jamm National Hospital Center in Guédiawaye, does not want the matter to be "covered up." What exactly is it about? According to the administrative report consulted by L'Observateur, the case concerns alleged "drug trafficking" within the institution.
At the heart of the matter, the same source details, are "300 ampoules of injectable midazolam," divided into 30 boxes, delivered on September 22, 2025, by JM Faye. He allegedly proposed a "clandestine barter" involving exchanging these products, nearing their expiration date, for other marketable medications. The potential value of the transaction is estimated at 790,440 FCFA at the private market price.
Quoted by the newspaper, Professor Fall claims to have opposed the exchange and requested that the medications be held temporarily, pending a decision. But, to his great surprise, four days later, the products were allegedly "returned to their supplier." The whistleblower fears that this return will lead to the "disappearance of the evidence" and allow the medications to potentially re-enter the black market, including street markets and clandestine clinics.
As early as October 2025, refusing to let the matter be "covered up," the former official announced his intention to refer the case to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). He had also alerted the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (PRA) and contacted the Order of Pharmacists and the pharmacists' union. He requested that investigations be conducted to determine the circumstances under which the medications entered and were subsequently removed from the hospital.
