DER/FJ à Kanel et Ranérou : Plus de 154 millions FCFA mobilisés pour les femmes et les jeunes du Fouta
The General Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth (DER/FJ) continues its tour in northeastern Senegal. After the Matam department, the delegation, led by its General Delegate, Dr. Abdoulaye Niane, stopped in Kanel before concluding its departmental tour in Ranérou, with funding intended to support local entrepreneurship and strengthen financial inclusion.
Kanel : 100 million FCFA to support local initiatives
In the Kanel department, 26 groups comprising 650 beneficiaries are involved in the BE-YES and Nano-Credit programs. On this occasion, Dr. Abdoulaye Niane announced a budget of 100 million FCFA to support local economic initiatives.
This funding aims to contribute to the development of income-generating activities in a department with significant agricultural potential. Market gardening and livestock farming are among the promising sectors likely to foster job creation and improve living conditions for the population.
Through these support mechanisms, the DER/FJ intends to facilitate access for women and young people to the financial resources necessary for the development of their activities.
Ranérou : Over 54 million FCFA raised for 25 groups
The tour continued in Ranérou, a department with a strong sylvopastoral focus, where more than 54 million FCFA have been mobilized for the benefit of 25 groups.
The funding aims to support entrepreneurial initiatives in a region where livestock farming, dairy processing, and market gardening are sectors with strong potential. The objective is to enhance local resources, support economic activities, and strengthen the financial empowerment of beneficiaries.
Beyond funding, the Director General presented the "One ASC, One Project" initiative, which aims to promote the economic integration of young people through sports and cultural associations (ASCs). This approach seeks to make the associative movement a lever for promoting entrepreneurship and creating economic opportunities.
Debt recovery: a key issue for the sustainability of funding
In Ranérou, Dr. Abdoulaye Niane also drew the beneficiaries' attention to the low repayment rate. He emphasized the importance of repaying the funds granted, a crucial factor in ensuring the continuity of programs and enabling other project promoters to access the same opportunities.
Through the stages of Kanel and Ranérou, the DER/FJ reaffirms its ambition to support women's and youth entrepreneurship, by building on the economic potential of the territories and encouraging responsible management of funding.
The challenge now is to transform these resources into sustainable activities, capable of generating income, consolidating the economic autonomy of the beneficiaries and contributing to local development.
