Diakhaye : Travaux suspects et voie publique bloquée, les riverains révoltés
In Diakhaye, a town in the Keur Massar department, near the Sonatel building, a narrow alley used daily by residents has become the focus of a heated dispute. According to several locals, a man claims to own the land and maintains that he obtained permission from the town hall to occupy it.
Work is currently underway on the site, including excavations. This situation is causing concern among residents, who maintain that it is a long-established thoroughfare used by local residents, located between several houses.
Faced with the continuation of the construction work, neighbors have mobilized to express their discontent. They are demanding that the status of this alleyway be clearly established and that any permits issued be made public. The residents also indicate that they have tried unsuccessfully to contact the municipality for explanations.
Meanwhile, according to a source close to the case, the prefect dispatched a team from the DSCOS (Directorate of Surveillance and Control of Land Use) to the site to inquire about the situation and verify the conditions of occupation of this alley.
The residents are now calling on the municipal authorities to visit the site to assess the situation, examine the documents and permits held by the occupant and, above all, guarantee free movement on this road.
Beyond a simple neighborhood dispute, this case raises a question of general interest regarding the legal status of this alley and the reasons for its allocation. Residents are awaiting urgent clarification from the town hall to prevent the situation from escalating and creating further tension in the neighborhood.
