Diamniadio : deux ouvriers meurent dans la chute d'une nacelle à la Dakar Arena
A workplace accident occurred this Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Dakar Arena construction site. A Senegalese worker and another of Argentinian nationality lost their lives, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye. The Dakar Research Section is in charge of the investigation.
On the afternoon of Saturday, October 17, 2026, at approximately 3:13 PM, a workplace accident resulted in two deaths at the Dakar Arena, located in the 4th arrondissement of the Diamniadio Urban Center. The announcement was made by the National Gendarmerie via a press release from its Communication and Public Relations Division.
At the time of the tragedy, KOB Logistic workers were installing lighting equipment for the Dakar Arena. The company was working as a subcontractor for FAST, which was itself contracted by the COJOJ (Organizing Committee for the Youth Olympic Games).
Two workers were on board the gondola. The first, a Senegalese national, was responsible for operating it. The second, an Argentinian national, was to repair the spotlights.
According to the Gendarmerie, the platform became unbalanced and then overturned. The two men fell to the ground. They died after being evacuated.
An investigation has been opened and entrusted to the Dakar Research Section. It must establish the exact circumstances of the accident.
The National Gendarmerie offered its condolences to the bereaved families, noting that it only communicates through its official digital platforms.

Au lieu de parler de politique, des futiliés, voila des questions qui nous interpellent au quotidien: La santé et sécurité ne se négocient pas.
Parfois il serait bien qu'on parle de ces secteurs au lieu de tout masquer avec des débats politiques.
Lors de travaux en hauteur sur une nacelle élévatrice, le port d'un harnais de sécurité relié à un point d'ancrage homologué est strictement obligatoire.
Non respect des règles de sécurité,harnais et etc...
