DPV : Le SYNTTAS dénonce des "CDI irréguliers" et annonce une grève de 48 heures
A standoff is brewing at the Directorate of Plant Protection (DPV). The National Union of Agricultural Technicians and Workers of Senegal (SYNTTAS) has announced a 48-hour strike. The reason: the signing, in January 2026, of more than a dozen permanent employment contracts (CDI) which it considers irregular.
According to the union, these contracts were awarded to the detriment of temporary workers, some of whom have over ten years of service. SYNTTAS also denounces the closure of the restaurant, the non-renewal of several employees' contracts, and transfers it considers arbitrary.
The union is demanding, in particular, a review of the contested permanent contracts, the reopening of the restaurant, compliance with recruitment procedures and the payment of back wages owed to certain workers.
The action plan begins this Monday, September 28, with workers wearing red armbands. A general strike is then planned for Tuesday, September 29, and Wednesday, September 30. SYNTTAS also announces that it has filed a complaint with the IAAF and the labor inspectorate to have its various demands examined.
