Drame à Nioro : Une fillette de 8 ans mortellement fauchée par un « Cheikhou Chérif »
A traffic accident occurred this Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the entrance to Nioro, resulting in the death of an 8-year-old girl. Upon learning of the tragedy, the commander of the Nioro territorial brigade, Chief Warrant Officer Souleymane Thior, dispatched his officers to the scene. In collaboration with the firefighters, they carried out the standard procedures for documenting the incident. The body was then transported to the morgue of the Nioro health district.
An investigation has been launched to determine responsibility for the accident. The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter. Following the investigation, he will be brought before the prosecutor in Kaolack.
