Drame à Yeumbeul : un forgeron meurt électrocuté dans son atelier
A tragedy occurred on Friday, October 2, 2026, in Darou Salam 2, in the Yeumbeul district. K. Séye, a blacksmith of approximately 22 years old, died from electrocution in his workshop. An investigation is underway.
On October 2, 2026, around 5 p.m., members of the National Fire Brigade notified the Yeumbeul district police station of a case of death by electrocution that occurred in Darou Salam 2. The police officers went to the scene without delay to carry out the usual investigations.
Investigators discovered the victim's lifeless body in his workshop. He was lying on his back. They noted burns on his chest, as well as on various other parts of his body, consistent with electrocution.
According to information gathered at the scene, the victim worked as a blacksmith. At the time of the incident, he was handling the workshop's electrical cables to stop the machines.
She shared this workshop with her uncle. He had asked her to turn off the machines so they could leave to go to prayer. It was while carrying out this task, at his uncle's request, that the young man was reportedly electrocuted.
The victim is K.Séye, aged approximately 22. A blacksmith by profession, he resided, during his lifetime, in the Darou Rahman 02 district of Yeumbeul.
The Public Prosecutor's Office has been informed of the situation and an investigation has been opened.
