Drame à Zac Mbao : une fillette de 5 ans meurt après une chute du 4e étage
The tragedy occurred this Thursday shortly after 4:30 p.m. in Zac Mbao, reports L'Observateur in its next day's edition. The newspaper explains that five-year-old K. Seydi fell to her death from the balcony of her family's fourth-floor apartment. A few minutes earlier, the child, who had just returned home from school, had asked her mother for a glass of water. Her mother briefly left to go down to a relative's apartment on the second floor to get some.
Upon returning home, the mother, unable to find her daughter, was alerted by cries from the street. Looking from her balcony, she saw neighbors helping the child after she fell onto a concrete slab. Rushed to the Aby Diouf clinic, the little girl did not survive despite doctors' attempts to resuscitate her.
The victim's father, an employee at Sonatel in Mbour, was at his workplace at the time of the accident.
An autopsy was ordered.
An investigation has been opened, and police have carried out the initial standard procedures to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. The girl's body was then transferred from the Thiaroye hospital morgue to the Idrissa Pouye health center in Grand-Yoff, where an autopsy was ordered. A close friend of the grieving family, quoted by the Groupe Futurs Médias newspaper, is in shock and urged restraint: "They were alone, just the two of them, in the apartment. No one knows what really happened. Everything else is just speculation."
