Du rond-point au quartier Darou Salam Extension : La police de Mbacké traque les vendeurs de drogue
The officers of the Mbacké urban police station dealt a significant blow to local drug trafficking. In the space of a single day, two individuals suspected of possessing and offering or transferring cannabis were arrested during two separate operations conducted at the city roundabout and in the Darou Salam Extension neighborhood.
A cover-up attempt foiled at the Mbacké roundabout
The case began during a traffic control mission at the Mbacké roundabout. While carrying out his duties, the arresting officer was discreetly approached by a local resident who reported the suspicious behavior of an individual.
Alerted, the police officer observed the suspect hastily burying a black plastic bag near a corrugated iron shack. Immediately moving to the scene, the officer asked the individual to dig up the bag, which contained ten (10) packets of Indian hemp.
After notifying his superiors, the officer received backup from the patrol unit, who escorted the suspect to the station. Identified as 23-year-old Bo Fall, a trainee driver and farmer residing in Touba, he was passing through Mbacké. Briefly questioned at the station, Bo Fall readily admitted to the charges against him.
A network dismantled at the Darou Salam Extension bus station
Following up on the day's operations, the police acted on information indicating heavy activity in the sale and consumption of Indian hemp in the Darou Salam Extension district, specifically at a site used as a bus station by unlicensed taxi drivers.
A targeted raid was immediately carried out on the scene by law enforcement.
The operation proved successful: the police arrested the main suspected supplier in the sector, I. NIASS. Aged 42, this driver residing in the Darou Salam Extension district was caught in possession of a transparent plastic bag containing thirty-four (34) cones of Indian hemp, as well as a sum of nine thousand five hundred (9,500) CFA francs.
Taken to the police station for the purposes of the investigation, I. NIASS unequivocally admitted to being the owner of the drugs seized in his possession.
The two suspects are currently being held at the Mbacké urban police station as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
