El Hierro : Des Sénégalais parmi les 41 migrants secourus après cinq jours en mer depuis la Gambie
A pirogue carrying 41 migrants was rescued this Wednesday morning off the island of El Hierro, in the Canary Islands, after several days of crossing from Gambia.
According to available information, the boat had left The Gambia five days earlier. It was spotted approximately 10 km off the coast of El Hierro before being rescued by the rescue vessel "Salvamar Navia". The migrants were then taken to the port of La Restinga.
The group of migrants consisted of 41 people, including three women and a minor, from Gambia, Senegal, Guinea, and Cameroon. They were taken into care by the Red Cross, the Civil Guard, and the police. Their health was deemed satisfactory, and no hospitalization was required.
